SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Relevant experience within the industry or related industries.
  • Previous related buying experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing and communication skills at all levels, ensuring that both internal & external contacts are handled in a professional manner at all times.
  • Strong analytical skills in the interpretation and presentation of data.
  • Team player with project management experience.
  • Ability to prioritise schedules and manage workload on several projects at any one time within a fast paced environment.
  • Excellent time management.
  • Strong negotiation skills are essential.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

To support with the management of the day to day packaging, tag and label requirements of the Brands.

  • Liaise with Brand creative departments & divisions to obtain accurate packaging, briefs.
  • Communicate packaging briefs to nominated suppliers to obtain competitive quotes, accurate print proofs and workable lead times.
  • Obtain accurate supply chain information to set up packaging in relevant global locations.
  • Liaise with internal design studio or external design house to facilitate the production of print ready artwork that is suitable for presentation to internal clients.
  • Produce benchmark technical specification for suitable suppliers to provide costs, researching print production processes where required.
  • Liaise and select appropriate supplier - ensuring that the brand’s requirements are clearly communicated to suppliers.
  • Assist in the continual review of nominated packaging suppliers to ensure that service level agreements are upheld at all times.
  • To be an integral part of the packaging team, providing the best possible service to all Brands whilst striving to maximise cost savings.
  • Ensure that products within the job holder’s portfolio are delivered in accordance with the department / group delivery and quality criteria.
  • Involvement in costing and negotiation with Suppliers.
